EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENTS

Protecting Your Investments

Employment agreements are a useful resource to help protect the relationships, goodwill, and trade secrets your business develops. Restrictive covenants, such as non-compete and non-solicitation clauses have become popular in recent years. Non-competition clauses in particular have seen a large growth in popularity for companies who want to protect against valuable information being misappropriated by former members of their sales force. These agreements can be invaluable, but can also be difficult to properly draft and enforce. An agreement which unfairly restricts an employee’s ability to find new employment, or which attempts to impose unreasonable terms, may be voided or redrafted by a court.

Employment agreements can also be drafted to help you protect your investment in the training you provide to your key staff members. We can help you draft and maintain clauses that will offer you the ability to be reimbursed for employees who leave shortly after undergoing an extensive – and often expensive – training program. If an employee violates the terms of the agreement, we will be there to help you enforce those rights in court.
